Lyrics
My Mistakes
We all make mistakes
We all make mistakes
We all do wrong, we do wrong
From time to time
Who told me, who said that
We shouldn´t make mistakes?
We have to make mistakes
´cause without we are not complete
We wouldn´t learn
We wouldn´t grow
We wouldn´t go on
Without mistakes we wouldn´t go on
Without mistakes we wouldn´t go on
I need my mistakes
I need my mistakes
My mistakes
We all, we all do wrong
We all do wrong, do wrong
From time to time
We all do wrong from time to time
From time to time, to time
Please don´t harm me
Come and speak to me
Please don´t harm me
Come and speak to me
So i can become a better person tomorrow
And be happy again inside of the pain
My mistakes, you are mine
My mistakes, you are mine
My treasure
Nobody can take you from me
Come and speak to me
You belong to me
We all, we all do wrong
From time to time
We all do wrong from time to time
Story
Synthesizer sounds boom and whir from the arcade, and a pounding drum machine sets the beat. Chopped-up vocal samples and singing join in. The game begins. Now, don’t make any mistakes…
The instrumental version existed long before Betti added her vocals. In the first version, I used samples of Björk’s voice from one of her songs, which served as a guide for Betti. Nevertheless, she gave the song its own character. As in the original version with Björk, I also broke down Betti’s voice and used the vocal samples in several parts like a drum pad.
For far too long in my life, I have feared making mistakes. Admittedly, I still often fear them today, or feel ashamed of them. But they are one of the best things that can happen to us, aren’t they? When I make a mistake, I can recognize it and improve a skill or even develop as a person by learning from it! Let’s raise a glass to our mistakes! PS about the lyrics: These lyrics were actually written to a different melody, but I liked them so much that I thought: I’ll just try them with Lukasz’s music. And it worked! Maybe there will be a completely different song with the same lyrics someday, and then you’ll know why.
